CCB London provides UK institutional investors with the ability to access the RQFIIprogramme. The RQFII (“RenminbiQualified Foreign Institutional Investor”) scheme was launched in December 2011 in Hong Kong and extended to encompass investors in the UK in October 2013 when China’s Securities Regulator, the CSRC, announced a RMB 80 billion quota for UK investors to invest offshore Renminbi currency back into China.

The RQFII scheme enables licensed funds domiciled in the UK to apply for RQFII licenses and investment quota, and, upon approval, to invest their offshore Renminbi funds directly into China’s domestic A-share stock market, its corporate bond market and futures markets. CCB London can assist institutional investors understand the RQFII market and license application process and introduce them to CCB Custodial Services in Beijing, which acts as the Custodian Bank in China for foreign investors.
